Malays must put their house in order

I believe there is an urgent need for moderate (wasatiyah) Malays to come forward and actively reclaim the rights of our race from being hijacked by extremists.

The so-called Malay leaders of UMNO find the easy way to strengthen their grip on their claim to be representing Malays is to stoke up racism and fear of other races among the Malays.

Malay leaders, particularly Anwar Ibrahim, must do all he can to counter this and unite the Malays. Malays have always been a tolerant community and there is no reason to change now.

All the time, the UMNO leadership tries to portray the Chinese as a threat to the Malays. But Malays should realise that the real threat comes from these treacherous UMNO leaders. All this while they are the ones who have been squandering the wealth of this nation under the pretext of Malay Rights. This is particularly so since Mahathir came to power and continues to be so under Abdullah.

It is about time we expose their baloney and reclaim the leadership of the Malays. In order for this country to move forward, we, Malays must put our house in order.
